These two artists are hidden music jewels in California. I had the pleasure of interviewing Raju and Chai. They are a brother and sister singing sensation that the world needs to look out for. When they walked into the headquarters of TNE magazine, I felt a warm presence and a sense of determination. These two are truly a testament to following your dreams and believing in yourself.
As we got acquainted, we talked about their beginnings in the music business to them wanting to inspire the upcoming artist. They just warmed my soul. You do not find too many young people who are committed to their craft like 18-year-old Raju and 14-year-old Chai. These two have always loved to sing and were placed in a position to audition for a major record label which you will hear more about on ExumMusic. They expressed the team of people that have rallied around them has been more than uplifting. They have guided them more into space where their music will be more heard soon.
What fascinated me about these two was their heritage which played a big part in breaking the stereotype in the music industry. They are inspired by the R&B genre. To my surprise, they gave me a rendition of a Frank Ocean song that made me drop the mic. I am telling you I am a real fan of these two.
Hearing about these two’s experience, I felt like when you have your family supporting your dream it makes a difference. When you listen to the ExumMusic podcast, you will hear how their family supported their dream.
Another discussion that made me admire and love this two-artist more is how they could finish each other’s sentences and thoughts. I don’t know about everyone else who has siblings, but it’s rare to find this kind of relationships with older and younger siblings. What that showed me was how much love these two have for each other. It was evident when they broke out in a song for me that they also carried that love to their music.
Which brings me to the reason behind their music. Some people might admit they got in the business to just be a star or to make money. The short amount of time I had with Raju and Chai I did not get that vibe from them at all. When they told me the reason behind their music and what they want to transcend to the world, I applauded. I give the utmost respect to their parents for what they instilled into these two kindred individuals. In this business, their attitude and their will to inspire other will help them go so far in their career.
