The sound of music

Some may think that when they hear artists that it’s just their voice behind their masterpieces. Just like art, it takes individual tools to make the final picture complete and colorful. As I sat at the TNE Magazine headquarters preparing and waiting for my guest Chilitos Valenzuela, who is the founder of AudioGraph International, never in my wildest dreams did I expect the conversation and subjects that we would discuss. Valenzuela told us his story behind his dream of being in the music industry.

Valenzuela is from Tijuana, Mexico and he comes from humble beginnings. He had a dream at the young age of just doing what he loves to do. It was quite evident what it was he loved to from the beginning of our interview, teaching. He has this warm and inviting presence of positiveness. Which is not the norm in the entertainment and music industry. Let’s just keep it real, and you all know someone in the industry who confirms my statement. While getting to know Valenzuela I could tell he had a passion for what he teaches and does in the music industry.

Valenzuela has created and founded AudioGraph International which is the first and only bilingual professional audio school with certification courses. As he happily explained in our interview, never in his dreams Valenzuela would believe he would be teaching in this type of magnitude. I have to say, with his attitude on life and living his dream, the success of his school does not surprise me at all. He goes on to discuss the definition and capability of Pro Tools. Pro Tools is a digital audio workstation that is an operating system which can be used for a wide range of sound recordings and sound production purposes.

As we continue to discuss the Pro tools operation and what its functions are Valenzuela's face is always lit up with excitement. He then tells me about some of his sessions that he feels were a dream come true. One session in particular he discussed was with Sir Elton John. Valenzuela was telling me this story like a little kid telling Santa what they wanted for Christmas. He goes on to explain to me that Pro tools are always changing daily due to today’s digital era. Producers are constantly coming up with creative ways to make sounds using Pro tools that are better and more efficient for the artist. I would expect a change of this operating system has propelled AudioGraph International throughout the school which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Of course before congratulating Valenzuela of this milestone of success I asked where he saw the school in five years and his answer blew my mind. From this interview, you can honestly see that this man is living the dream and he is basking in its glory. With his attitude on life and what he has accomplished with his talents and going forward, one cannot help but wonder where are other people in the world like Valenzuela. I was really captivated by his attitude and his spirit of life. I am a true believer that if you are doing things that you love like Valenzuela, it’s not just work. With all this passion for what he does and teaches, Valenzuela also has written several books. To find out where to purchase them, tune into the Exum Music podcast.
