4th of July Top Picks

It’s summertime! That means food, fun and fellowship! If you anything like me, that also means you will be entertaining guest! Our friends at Crate and Barrel were kind enough to show us some of the latest home and garden fashions for the summer. Here are a few tips on how to put it all together!

Often times it is much easier to plan and decorate and event when you first choose a theme. It could be as simple as coordinating colors like coral and navy (which is very popular right now) or red, white, & blue for the upcoming 4th of July celebration! A theme helps to unify the scenery for your event and it also adds a nice decorative touch to the great outdoors!

For example, our Crate and Barrel expert showed us a set of patriotic serving dishes with red stars to serve your 4 of July guests. Add an American flag table cloth, color coordinated cutlery, cups and plates to set the table for an Independence day feast!

For added decor, Patriotic Punch is in order! Using unsweetened blue drink mix, pineapple juice, ginger ale, fresh lime sherbet (white in color), and strawberries you can create a flavor-fully refreshing, decorative touch to your gathering! Be sure to serve this beverage in a clear juice cooler to show off the red, white, and blue!

Backyard barbecues can be fun all in their own right, but adding a few games and outdoor activities can make your gathering even more memorable! Our Crate and Barrel guru showed us and Independence Day horseshoe game set for the ages, that is perfectly color coordinated for the occasion! You can also pick up a good ol' fashion wooden corn hole game and stain it with paint from your local craft store that reflect color scheme of America with bean bags to match! These two games will have our guest up, moving and having fun!

Summertime entertaining is an age old past time that is enjoyed by all races, genders, and religions! Add some flare to your next gathering with a few d.i.y. tips and our friends from Crate and Barrel!
